Backstage Beauty: Viktor & Rolf Spring 2012

Runway makeup is truly part art, part innovation … Take the beauty team at Viktor & Rolf for example, where makeup artist Pat McGrath has been using bits of high-shine paper trimmed into sleek shapes as a substitution for eyeliner.  It solves the age old dilemma of runny makeup, can be applied quickly and adds a chic, modern touch to the looks.  Another double duty solution comes in the form of Minx nails, with the flexible plastic being used to fashion everything from finger tips to eye makeup accents–even full on garments in the case of this recent runway show.
